Paraffin wax is a common ingredient that is widely used in salons and spas for a variety of treatments such as treatment of chapped and cracked heels, treating back and neck aches, and the treatment of hands. The use of paraffin wax makes the hands extremely soft and smooth. Given below is a complete DIY paraffin treatment for silky shining hands.
Step 1
Clean your hands properly by washing with a good quality soap and dry with a lint free towel.
Step 2
Take about four pounds of food grade paraffin wax and allow it to melt in a double boiler keeping at a low to medium heat source. Adding a few drops of essential oil to the molten wax will give you benefits of aroma therapy.
Step 3
Once the wax melts, add one cup of mineral oil.
Step 4
After all the wax melts down take the boiler off the heat and pour the wax in a pre-greased canister.
Step 5
Apply some olive massage oil onto your hands, and also apply the oil in between the fingers.

When you observe a thin layer appearing on the surface of the wax, check the temperature of the molten wax with a thermometer and note that it should be 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 7
Once you note the desired temperature, immerse your hand with precaution inside the wax canister. The hand should be dipped as much as possible and should be entirely covered with the wax.
Step 8
When a thin layer of wax starts forming on the hands, remove hands from the wax. When the layer dries up, again put the hand inside the bowl with the remaining oil. This process should be repeated continuously to have at least 5-7 wax layers on the hand.
Step 9
After creating several layers of dried wax on your hands, seal your hand inside a big enough plastic bag.
Step 10
Wrap up your hand insode a thivk towel or an insulated mitten
Step 11
After about 10 -15 minutes take out your hand from the plastic bag or mitten and take off the cold wax with the help of a soft tissue.
Step 12
Apply moisturizer to your hands, Repeat the entire process with the other hand too in the same way as described above is desired.
