What are moles?
Moles are essentially small bumps on any part of the body or change in skin color in any part of the skin. These moles are usually brown in color although some moles may be blue, black or even flesh-colored. Difference in colors is due to pigmentation in the body known as melanin. These moles usually appear from birth and show up especially during puberty. Moles are typically flat; however, some moles may turn into a bump or develop hair.
DIY Mole Removal
Although moles do not cause hindrance to life, some people may find the presence of these moles on the body unsightly and, therefore, a blemish. For these people, there is now a respite. There are some known natural remedies to get rid of these moles without having to fork out a fortune going through surgical processes. Professional mole removal can be expensive and may leave a scar on the skin upon removal. Therefore, if your mole is harmless, then go the natural way.
Process
1. What you need to do is to have some baking soda ready and mix a pinch of this with a tablespoon of Castor oil in a bowl. Castor oil and baking soda do not mix well; therefore, you will need to take some effort in mixing them with a spoon properly.
2. Now dab a piece of cotton wool on the mixture and apply it to the mole you wish to remove. Let it rest on the mole for a few hours and then rinse it off with warm water.
3. Follow this method for about three to four times a day for a week. However, it is important to note that this procedure is only application during the day.
4. In the night, you will have to cut one piece of garlic into two. Then place one-half on the mole such that the cut side of the garlic is sitting on the mole. Now, wrap this up with a cotton bandage and leave it overnight. There are sulphur-rich juices in the garlic which help remove the garlic. As such, this method is highly effective. Follow this procedure for 2-3 nights. However, if the mole is still present, extend this procedure until you notice that the mole has disappeared. Be very careful when you do this method and ensure that the garlic only covers the mole and not the surrounding skin. Exposing the garlic to surrounding skin overnight can cause the healthy skin to burn.
Tips and Warnings
In general, you should always use this home remedy with caution. Ensure that the mixtures are applied only on the affected area and avoid contact with healthy surrounding skin. These remedies should also be avoided if the mole is causing pain or is infected. Stop any form of home remedy, if you find any adverse reactions and visit a dermatologist immediately.
