With the highly increased threat of damaging your skin with the harmful chemicals in cosmetic products, it is better to go the natural way.

The various high end and quality skin care products can be easily prepared within the comforts of your own home by simply substituting the ingredients into base creams such as marine derived ingredients, epidermal growth factor, neuro peptides and pomegranate extract. These ingredients will enhance the working of your regular creams and beauty solutions.

Given below is the base cream recipe that can be used for effective external application of active ingredients, essential oils and herbal extracts. This cream can be easily preserved inside your refrigerator for nearly two months.

Cocoa butter

Ingredients required:

  • Granulated or grated beeswax 8g/2 teaspoon
  • Cocoa butter 10g
  • Almond oil 30 ml/2 tablespoon
  • Wheat germ oil 15 ml/1 tablespoon
  • Spring water
  • Borax

This will approximately make 100g or3.5 oz of cream.

Steps:

  • Place the beeswax, cocoa butter and base oils together in a bowl over a saucepan of water and heat all the ingredients until they have all melted.
  • Take the spring water in another saucepan and add borax in it and dissolve.
  • Take the first mixture off the flame and slowly add the spring water mixture to it slowly and gradually and stir until it cools down completely.
  • Finally add in essential oils or herbal tincture.
  • Store the above in a dark colored glass jar inside the refrigerator.

Add only one active at a time in the cream as adding more will only leave the skin irritated since too many actives do not blend well and leads to burning of the skin damaging the affectivity of the product.

You can create a top skin care brand by incorporating active ingredients into marine derived ingredients such as La Mer crème. You can use ingredients like the epidermal growth factor like the one found in Tracie Martyn’s products RVive skin care, neuro-peptides found inside Dr. Nicholas Perricone Skin care products, blue lotus extract featured by Ella Bach skin care and Pomegranate extract found in some of the Dr. Murad products.

Summary

We spend thousands on costly and expensive yet the harmful cosmetic skin care products. DIY products like the one mentioned above gives you a healthy skin right at your home.
