Tips to exercise at home the cardio way

Cardio is the best intensive work out that you can easily do at home; cardio offers a number of health benefits that are good for your well being and health. Not all of us have the time or the money to go to the gym or for a run in the park:

Work out DVD’s:

The best way to begin cardio exercises at home is to buy a DVD that is available any where. Cardio work outs involve anything like kick boxing to dancing. So choose a DVD that looks like fun as well as something that you will find easy to do. Change DVD’s every three to four months, this way you will have a little collection of work out DVD’s that will offer you various work outs that you can rotate through.

Treadmill:

This is probably the simplest way to get cardio work outs done at home. Either run, walk or jog briskly for twenty to forty five minutes. Some models of treadmills even have the option of changing the angle of the walking surfaces. Listen to music, audio books or watch the news so that you don’t get bored.

Stationary Bike:

This is another equipment that can help with cardio exercise, you have to do is peddle away. Drink plenty of water and keep yourself pre occupied while cycling, you can even read a book while peddling at a slower pace.

Jump Rope:

A jump rope is the cheapest cardio work out option. Buy one or use your kid’s jump ropes and work out for twenty minutes. Start with hundred fast jumps with intervals and then smaller jumps barely lifting your feet from the ground.

Step Workout:

Use the step work out without using any equipment, simply use the bottom steps of the staircase, or any large box that is sturdy enough to support your weight. Begin by stepping up with your right and then left leg twelve times each. Repeat this and then begin stepping side wise.

Planning and timing:

Cardio is very intensive so if you are not used to it, begin slowly. Your entire routine should be planned ahead and should include two to three sessions each week and should get harder at a progressive rate. If you find yourself skipping cardio, then nest time you are at the gym, complete your cardio exercises first.
