A slight tan is a good way of upping your look making it quite adorable. However, a sunburnt skin is never a good sight. It also is not good for health and your skin. Having said that, there are certain ways by which you can get rid of your peeling sunburnt skin. Of course, you need to avail medical professional help, but simultaneously, there are a few remedies by which you can better your condition.
Don’t pull it off:
As tempting as it may seem, do not pull of your fall skin. This will do nothing but only worsen your situation. Bruises are more likely to happen if you peel off your skin. Wait for it to fall on its own. If you really want to get rid of the small hanging bits and pieces of your skin, cut them out carefully with scissors, but never peel them off.
Remain hydrated:
Drink plenty of water and fruit juices. Ensure that you are taking in sufficient amounts of fluids each day. This will hydrate your skin, make it supple and elastic and it will help in getting rid of the flakiness of the skin due to sunburn. Make sure you moisturize your skin well and daily. Use creams and moisturizers specially designed for sunburns in order to make them heal quicker.
Cool your skin:
Place an ice pack on the sunburnt area even before your skin starts to peel off. You can even take a cold shower in order to counter this issue. There are plenty of ointments and creams available that you can use to impart some cooling and relief to your skin, and these are sold over-the-counter, you shouldn’t have a hard time purchasing them. Use vitamin E oil or coconut oil to apply on your rashes and sunburn to help them heal faster.
Having said that, all of it can be avoided if only one takes enough precautions to not land a sunburn in the first place. Use the following measure to prevent yourself from a sunburnt peeling skin.
- Wear enough sunscreen with SPF no more than 70. Use it whenever you step out to apply on your exposed as well as on all your hidden areas for maximum protection from the sun.
- Keep your skin well hydrated and moisturized at all times.
- Use a hat, scarf or an umbrella to prevent direct exposure to the sun’s rays
Following these ‘rules’ you can easily enjoy sunbathing or walking out with nothing to worry about. Also, in case if sunburn occurs, treat it with patience and it will be gone faster than it came in.
