Skin conditions like acne can be very annoying especially for teens and women who usually make public appearances. While acne has many medical reasons, they have their cosmetic value too. Sometimes certain skin types are found to be more prone to developing acne and such people often tend to suffer more.


When pores in the skin get clogged, they cause acne. Hence it is ideal to clean the clogged pores so as to avoid the trapping of harmful bacteria in the pores and further causing infection. It is therefore necessary to keep the pores clean and prevent it from clogging.

Some of the acne control treatment face masks that can be tried at home are:


  • Oatmeal mask – Take some regular oats, about half a cup and cook them as per the given directions. Mix them with water until you form a paste. You can also add half a spoon honey to the paste. Wash your face and pat it dry. Apply the oatmeal paste on your face and allow it to dry. Keep it for 10 to 15 minutes and wash your face with clean water. This can be done once in a week.

  • Egg white mask – Take an egg white and add some lemon to it and whisk them to make it frothy. Clean your face and pat it dry. Apply the egg white mask on the face and particularly on the areas that are infected or showed acne and leave it for 10 minutes. Wash your face with clean water.


  • Tomato mask – Take a tomato and grind it to obtain tomato juice. Take a teaspoonful tomato juice and mix it with a teaspoon of honey. You can also add a drop of lemon juice or some camphor lotion if you like. Mix the contents to form a paste. Apply it on clean and dry face. Allow it to remain for 10 -15 minutes. Rinse your face with clean water.

It is advisable to use to use fresh ingredients for preparing natural face masks at home. After applying the face mask and washing the face with water, the face should also be washed with cold water so that the pores are closed and further entry of germs into the pores in prevented.
