Your Skin is Your Best Friend. Treat it that Way!

Your Skin is Your Best Friend

Your skin covers every inch of your body. It is your body’s first defense against disease and foreign materials. It is the first thing people see when they look at you, sending out signals of how old you are, how healthy you are, and how you are feeling right now. It is your body’s largest organ, and it’s tough to keep healthy unless you are very lucky or very careful. Most of us have not won the genetic lottery when it comes to skin health and beauty. For those of us who find it a challenge to keep our skin in tip top shape, there are ways that we can easily improve our skin without having to spend a lot of time and money. Here are some things that you can add to your daily repertoire, which will earn you the best skin of your life.

I use a few topical treatments, but not much. The ones that I have found most effective are my Illumask anti-aging mask and coconut oil. My anti aging mask is pretty awesome. I can wear my anti aging mask for a few minutes a day, no matter what I’m doing. I like to put it on as I’m getting ready to fall asleep. I put my anti aging mask over my face and let it do its thing while I peacefully close my eyes and let my mind relax and prepare for sleep. Because it doesn’t cover my eyes, I can also use my anti aging mask when I’m reading, writing, or cooking. The anti aging mask is very effective and I recommend it. The only other topical treatment I use is coconut oil, which leaves my skin hydrated and happy without ever getting greasy or slimy. I love coconut oil, and so does my skin. Coconut oil contains a lot of the vitamins and minerals which live inside coconuts, but I find it really challenging to eat a bunch of coconuts, and the oil seems to soak straight into my skin pretty easily. It’s a dream. You should buy some. It also has a lot of healthy culinary purposes as well.

One way to help your skin is to focus on the health of your whole body. I do this by exercising and drinking a lot of water. Water I drink in amounts of 2 liters per day, sometimes more or sometimes less. If it’s really dry or very hot, I always try to drink more, especially if I’m using my anti aging mask. This made a surprising difference in my skin health. My skin felt automatically a lot stretchier and more pliant. My lips didn’t chap nearly as much as they used to. And, combined with the effects of exercise, my eczema that I had since childhood started to get a lot better. Exercise doesn’t have to be extremely tiresome, but I find if I exhaust myself two to three times a week, it makes my skin a lot more happy. I don’t know all of the systems that are involved, but my entire body benefits from exercise. By extension, so does my skin.

There are lots of other ways to improve your skin, but these are three/four which are easy to do and don’t cost a lot of money. Coconut oil and the anti-aging mask are the only ones that cost money, and you should be able to get both for less than $50. There are other really good skin products which do cost money, but because these methods are easy and free, I think you should start here. If you master these and find that you still need help with your skin, you can invest in more expensive products.
